Biodata
M.R. PRUDHISAN JUMBALA is a member of the King Prajadhipok Museum

Committee.He was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Political Science,
Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, until his compulsory retirement in 2008.
He continues to teach part-time there.He also serves as the Second Deputy

Chairperson of the King Prajadhipok and Queen Rambhai Barni Memorial
Foundation and Member and Assistant Secretary-General of the Prajadhipok-

Rambhai Barni Foundation.A rather different capacity of his is Chairperson of
the Asian Institute for Human Rights,an NGO engaged in human rights
research and education.His publications, in Thai and English,cover subjects

ranging from political sociology,democratization to pressure groups,social
movements and civil society in Thailand,and also British Politics. A recent

publication of his is a chapter,’ Prajadhipok: the King at the transition to
Constitutional Monarchy in Siam’, in Suchit Bunbongkarn and Prudhisan
Jumbala (eds.), Monarchy and Constitutional Rule in Democratizing Thailand,

Bangkok: Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University, 2012.
