King Prajadhipok’s Institute
Dr. Thawilwadee Bureekul is the director of the Research and Development
Office of King Prajadhipok’s Institute (KPI) in Bangkok, Thailand, where she is
involved in the planning, managing, implementing, and coordinating of all the
Institute’s research projects. She is also responsible for fundraising and disseminating
research results to the public. In addition to her role at the KPI, Dr. Bureekul is an
instructor at several universities in Thailand, including the Asian Institute of
Technology, Thammasat University, Burapha University and Mahidol University. In
2003, she received the outstanding research award Political Science and Public
Administration from the research project on “Development of Indicators for Good
Governance” from Thailand Research Council. In 2012, she received the good
research award of sociology titled “The Study of Social Capital for Sustainable
Community Development: case study of Tumbon Klongkanan; Pakasai and Talingchan
communities, Amphoe Nue Klong, Krabi Province”. Her researches are mostly related
to democratization, good governance, social quality, public participation, public policy
and election behavior.
