their widespread and strong connection with people in all
areas; canvassers have been formed; in each area there are
those standing in for the politicians, the ones who help render
very powerful and sincere networks, and thus establish a
fairly foothold. In view of campaigning for votes, they employ
about the same method: making a regular visit to the people
in each locality. This is done not only during the time of
campaign for votes. Working that hard, together with its tak-
ing part in any activities hold in the areas religious rites of
passage or festivals organized according to various. occa-
sional customs and traditions, for example it pays off. How-
ever participation is considered only one of canvassing ways.
When opportunities allow, the party organizes a formal ad-
dress to the public in the town of Surat Thani. With all these
activities and performances, the residents of Surat Thani in all
ages felt tied up with the Democrat Party. Any politicians
moving out of the Democrat Party would not be elected;
however, when he or she moves back, then he or she will be
re-elected. It, therefore, can be safely concluded that the people
of Surat Thani have both trust and confidence on the Demo-
crat Party.
The attachment the residents of Surat Thani have had
for the politicians come more through the party than that
from the politicians. No wonder. in almost all national elec-
tions and in all ages, the only party winning the Surat Thani
people's heart has been the Democrat Party.
