Students’
Learning
of
Ten
Leader’s
Virtues
through
Listening
to
the
Lecture
on
Biography
of
King
Mongkut

Abstract
The main objective of this participatory research is to study
students’ learning of Ten Leader’s Virtues through listening to the
lecture on biography of King Mongkut (King Rama the forth). The
study was conducted in the subject area of general education, King
Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) by using
qualitative and quantitative methodology. The research instruments
used to collect the data were observations, in-depth interviews, group
discussions and structured questionnaire. The samples and key
informant were 85 KMUTT students and the lecturer. The data analysis
involved fundamental statistical analysis, content and inductive analysis.
The results of this research showed that the KMUTT students ‘self-
awareness beliefs of Ten Leader’s Virtues were at high levels;
Perseverance (X = 4.69), Non-anger (X = 4.59), Endurance or
Patience (X = 4.45), Not going wrong (X = 4.38), Self Conduct
(X = 4.15), Gentleness(X = 4.13), Not causing harm (X = 4.12),
Straightness (X = 4.03), Giving up (X = 4.01), and Giving (X = 4.01)
respectively. Additionally, the Ten Leader’s Virtues could be learnt by
using small group brain storming, analyzing and synthesizing after
listening to the lecture on biography of King Mongkut.
