3. Chainat Technical College proposed five projects, and King Prajadhipok’s Institute
granted each a budget of 7,000 baht. The five projects were named:
- Inventing Automatic Stand
- The Invention of Turning Light
- Activities on Road Accident Reduction and Safety
- Smart Helmet Equipment
- Drive Safely and Care Traffic Discipline with AFT.CN61
4. Students participating in the program tended to improve their behavior concerning road
safety in daily life. Students exhibited changes in behavior and attitude, such as crossing the road
at the crosswalk, not talking on the phone text messaging while driving, and wearing a helmet
when driving motorcycles, and also advocated increasing serious legal punishment to improve
driving behavior.
Suggestions
1. Policy recommendations: relevant state agencies should broaden the participatory
democratic process to reduce death rate from traffic accidents, which is an SDG indicator.
2 . Practical suggestions: during the process of creating a participatory action plan,
practitioners should address education, engineering, and enforcement (3E) measures. Conditions
should be imposed to ensure that a comprehensive range of projects emerges from the planning
process.
3 . Suggestions for future research: there should be a study to expand the use of
participatory democratic processes to other groups, both at the same and different educational
levels. Then, researchers should measure changes in levels of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors
after conducting participatory activities.
