2.1.2 Not jump to a conclusion of which party is guilty during the mediation
process.
2.1.3 The mediators from the same team should have a similar mediation
approach. In addition, the mediators should have a talking session with each other after
the finish of mediation.
2.1.4 Able to control one's emotions. The mental state of the mediators
should be stable, concentrated, patient, calm, and firm.
2.1.5 Have the body of knowledge and skills on mediation through the
abovementioned training.
2.1.6 Have communication skills whether in speaking, summarizing, and
questioning.
2.1.7 Have morality, volunteer mind, generousness, and able to keep secret
of the two parties.
2.1.8 Have human relation skills, positive thinking, and friendly personality.
2.1.9 Have life experiences in order to earn respect and trust from students.
2.2 Parties to the conflict and related persons
2.2.1 The parties must be ready and willing to enter the mediation process.
2.2.2 The power relationship between both parties must be equalized.
2.2.3 The parties must accept the truth and rules of mediation.
2.2.4 The parties understand and see the importance of the mediation
process.
2.2.5 The parties must have sympathy and respect for the peer mediators.
2.2.6 Related persons should not be too provocative.
