The results of the research are divided into two parts, namely, the survey on the
success of peer mediation in schools and the factors leading to the success of peer
mediation in schools.
1. The survey on the success of peer mediation in schools
1.1 The success of peer mediation in schools can be considered from many
aspects as follows:
1.1.1 A case where the number of conflicts is decreased
Emphasize the decreased number of conflicts through the process of
cultivating knowledge and morality in various forms, be it during class hours or an
assembly in the morning paying respect for the national anthem, by having teachers to
point out to students the importance of having morality in life.
1.1.2 Processes
Namely, more dialogues on problems by considering the causes, finding
solutions, using the process of accepting reasons or proposals of each party without
being controlled or forced, etc. The peer mediators can talk the parties to the conflict
into more thinking.
1.1.3 Results
The satisfaction of both parties to the conflict in which both are able to
understand each other and without having any misunderstanding. Both parties accept
the agreement and the outcome of the peer mediation resulting in unity, friendliness,
and reconciliation between each other.
1.1.4 The leadership development of the peer mediators
The benefit is on students when they take responsibility for peer mediation
which, in the meantime, they get to develop their leadership skills that will result them
in having more guts to think, express, and be more responsible.
