2.3 The building of relationship and trust
2.3.1 The parties and peer mediators should trust each other through
relationship building, causing an atmosphere like talking between friends, not between
the enemy.
2.3.2 Find the common characteristics of both parties so that the peer
mediators can focus the talk on the issues that both of them agree on.
2.4 Contexts and environments
2.4.1 The university policies will make the process of peaceful means able to
proceed.
2.4.2 The laying down of mutually accepted rules.
2.4.3 The finding of similarity e.g., creating the unified institution.
2.4.4 The emphasis on the belief system e.g., the law of karma (kamma) by
believing that good deeds bring good results.
2.4.5 The place that is relaxed in which the negotiation room must have an
atmosphere that is ready.
2.5 Resources
2.5.1 Budget for buying refrigerator, tables, chairs, including food and
beverages.
2.5.2 A good management system while the place for mediation should be
private. There should be a chart of the mediation process as well as clear documents
and laws.
2.5.3 Personnel performing duties should have the body of knowledge about
mediation, management, and the continuity in mediation.
