Abstract

The article presents multi - dimensional social inequality in Thailand. The causes

were analyzed and divided into two factors: structural problems of Thai society and
the weakness of political culture as well as people’s behaviors in the society. Both
factors have connected to each other, making Thailand fall into a trap of inequality.

Therefore, the present study suggested the solution to rectifying the inequality by
building a civic culture. Thailand has always tried to change the structure and the

political institutions without considering social and cultural fundamental factors.
Consequently, civic culture is adopted to educate people and have them adapt the
culture into their new ways of life for reduce social inequality.
